If you’re searching for a Hawkes Bay newborn photographer who truly understands those early days—tired, emotional, full-on—you’re in the right place. This isn’t a formal studio shoot. It’s calm, in-home newborn photography for real families. No stress. No rush. Just you, your baby, and honest moments captured simply.

Why Choose a Hawkes Bay Newborn Photographer for At-Home Sessions?

You don’t need to leave the house or pack a bag. Nor do you have to dress everyone perfectly or worry about a crying baby on the car ride.

Instead, I come to you.

As a Hawkes Bay newborn photographer, I work with natural light and quiet spaces to capture your baby where you feel most comfortable—at home. Whether it’s your couch, bed, or arms, that’s where the real beauty lives. That’s where the story unfolds.

When to Book

The sweet spot for photos is between day 5 and 14. Your baby’s still sleepy, curly, and wants to be close—that helps us get those calm, gentle images. But if you’ve already passed that window, don’t worry. I’ve worked with babies 3, 4, even 6 weeks old. We still get beautiful results.

Ideally, the best time to book is before baby arrives. However, if your little one is already here, please get in touch anyway—I’ll do my best to fit you in.

What the Session Looks Like

Sessions last 1.5–2 hours, which gives us time for feeding, nappy changes, and settling—no pressure, no clock-watching. I’m not there to pose you into something unnatural and forced. I guide you into real connection—holding, feeding, settling, just being with your baby.

My job is to notice the little things you’re too tired to see right now. The way your baby curls into your chest. How your partner looks at you when you’re not looking. That tiny hand wrapped around your finger.

Including Toddlers or Older Siblings

Do you have a toddler at home too? That’s perfect.

Some of the best sibling shots happen in the in-between moments—little kisses, curious hands, shared snuggles. And if they’re not into photos that day? That’s okay. We honour what’s real, not forced.

Sessions with big siblings are some of my favourites because toddlers don’t sit still—and they don’t need to. Toddlers don’t sit still—and they don’t need to. I let them warm up at their own pace. We play, read books, jump on the bed if needed. I work around them.

I’ll guide gently, read the energy, and create a space where your older child feels included, not pushed.

Getting Your Home Ready

You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect house. You need light and a little clear space. I’ll guide you through it. Bedrooms, lounges, or nurseries with good window light are ideal. That’s it.

I’ll send a prep guide before your session with quick tips on what to wear and how to prepare your space without overthinking it.

What You’ll Get

You’ll receive a gallery of high-quality images that feel like your real life—but softer, calmer, and beautifully lit.

Images include newborn details (fingers, toes, and if you want it that flaky skin), family connection shots, the portraits and quiet in-between moments that usually go undocumented. These are the photos you’ll come back to again and again.

Why Work With a Hawkes Bay Newborn Photographer?

I’m not just showing up with a camera. I bring calm, direction, and years of experience working with newborns and tired mums. I know how to read the room. I know when to lead and when to step back.

If you want beautiful photos without needing to “perform,” this is for you.

What next?

If you’re in Hawke’s Bay and want timeless, calm newborn photos without leaving your house, this is the most relaxed way to do it.
